May 2010 – Mansfield University selected Allen & O’Hara Development Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of ERT, to develop a new $25,000,000 enhanced student housing community. Massaro Corporation and WTW Architects, collaborators in the Allen & O’Hara development team, will design and build the multi-phase project. This same trio successfully developed, designed and constructed the four phase $172,000,000 student housing replacement project at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which will be complete in August of 2010.

The first phase of the Mansfield University Student Housing project will consist of two new four-story buildings that will feature 640 beds, 20,000 square feet of common space in the form of multi-purpose rooms, classrooms and other facilities. A ground breaking is planned for June 2010 with a slated completion date of July 2011. The project is also seeking LEED certification.

In order to engage the services and prequalify subcontractors in the Mainesburg, Pennsylvania region, Mansfield University and Massaro Corporation will host an open house. The purpose of this open house is to provide information about the project and the bidding process. At the session, Massaro will provide an overview of the mission, vision and goals for the project, as well as provide information on how all subcontractors, including local, minority and women owned businesses, can take part in the upcoming construction project. The open house will be held at 10:30 am on May 25, 2010 at 307 Alumni Hall.
