Massaro Corporation Gets Ready to Deliver Seton Hill Performing Arts Center
August 2009 -Massaro Corporation is poised to raise the curtain on the new Performing Arts Center at Seton Hill University. The excitement is building as professors, faculty and staff move in and the university prepares for the unveiling of the new facility to students and the Greensburg community.
Seton Hill University will open the new Seton Hill University Performing Arts Center on August 24, 2009. The $21 million performing arts complex was designed by MacLachlan, Cornelius & Filoni Architects, and is located in the Cultural District of downtown Greensburg. The new center will house complete performance, support, and academic space for the music and theatre programs at Seton Hill.
The building is located near the Palace Theatre and the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, creating a vibrant and dynamic arts district. The Performing Arts Center is within walking distance of the main campus, and continuous shuttle service will also be available to link Seton Hill’s main and downtown campuses.
The Performing Arts Center includes:
- Concert hall – 452 seats
- Theatre – 252 seats
- Complete scene shop
- Large music rehearsal room
- Laboratory theatre
- Classrooms
- Faculty offices and teaching studios
- Practice rooms
- Facilities for costume and set design, instrument storage
