Massaro Contributes to Braddock Playground Project

Mayor John Fetterman "Cuts the Ribbon" on the New Braddock Playground

November 2010 – Massaro Corporation completed the first phase of the Braddock Community Center in late July and was back in the community on August 31, 2010 to be one of the partners in the building of Braddock’s new playground. Heritage Community Initiatives, with the help of Braddock Redux and community support, was chosen by a national organization, KaBOOM, to receive a new playground. KaBOOM provides the equipment and a project manager to organize the building of the playground. The playground is then completely built by volunteers utilizing 100% donated tools and supplies. Massaro provided most of the tools for the project as well as five skilled building professionals who contributed to the two days of site preparation and led groups of volunteers for the build day. Mike White, Dan “Max” Connelly, Chris Wright, Tony Carr and Lemont Morand Jr., all really enjoyed the opportunity to spend three days transforming an underutilized space into a valuable community resource.
