Massaro Continues to Build on Pittsburgh's North Shore

January 2009 - Kratsa Properties awarded Massaro Corporation a contract to provide general construction services for the new Residence Inn by Marriot. This 148,500 square foot, extended stay hotel will offer luxury suites on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, within walking distance to Heinz Field, PNC Park and a variety of bars and restaurants. Adjacent to PNC Park’s home plate entrance, on the corner of West General Robinson Street and Mazeroski Way, this 10-story hotel will provide an array of amenities.

Unique to the market, this trendy, upscale hotel will offer the conveniences of home throughout 180 suite-style rooms. The $20,000,000 project will also feature an indoor pool and exercise facilities; an outdoor patio with barbecue fire pit; a billiard room; and a convenience store on the first floor.

Other projects built by Massaro on Pittsburgh’s North Shore include the First Avenue Parking Garage, three renovation projects at Heinz Field, and the Marriot Springhill Suites. The Marriot Springhill Suites was also developed by Kratsa Properties and will share its surface parking lot with The Residence Inn. Construction began in September of 2008 with a scheduled completion date of January 2010.
