Forty Years and Still Building
June 2007 – On June 13th both current and retired Massaro employees gathered for a day of celebration. The day marked the 40 year anniversary of the business and was the ground breaking for the Massaro Corporation’s office addition.
The 8,138 square feet addition to the headquarters building comes at a much needed time as Massaro Corporation is experiencing significant growth. Since the early 1990’s, the company has experienced substantial expansion in its general contracting division, along with adding two new divisions: Construction Management Services, LLC and Restoration Services, LLC, as well as the subsidiary Massaro Properties, LLC.
Evidence of more recent growth can be seen by the number of new personnel to join the Massaro team. Within the last six months, Massaro has hired 17 new personnel; 13 in general construction, 2 in Restoration Services, LLC and 2 in Construction Management Services, LLC. Consequently, as the company’s business scope and personnel grow, so does revenue. In 2006, the general contracting division reported a record year for revenue and based on first quarter results. 2007 is expected to be another record year.
The new addition will provide much needed space to support the organization’s growing structure and personnel. The current headquarters building consists of 14,794 usable square feet, occupied by administrative, business development, estimating, and operations staff. The new addition will create a total of 22, 932 usable square feet and increase available office space from 53 individual offices to 74 spaces. Additionally, there will also be 10 new cubicle spaces, approximately 8 feet by 10 feet. The new addition will also include a dividable conference room, a new break room, and two new restrooms. The addition will sit on what is currently the rear parking lot of the headquarters building. A new 40-space lot adjacent to the headquarters building will serve as the new employee parking area. In an effort to test the company’s LEED capabilities, the design team is seeking LEED certification for the building.
